Default How to remove an engine in under 2 hours

Within 2 hours of turning off the engine:

We decided to experiment with leaving as much as possible on the car, so only the fans, radiator, condenser, belts, intake, and IC had to come out.

Heads look the same as last time they were out:

Block also:

Gaskets are blown again - no surprise - but the most obvious one is the passenger side. I'm sure they're both blown. Heads will be o-ringed and the engine will go back together next weekend.

Many thanks to Fitz who once again lent his time, tools, and garage to help my poor leaking head gaskets. He also drove me to drop the heads off for o-ringing and even dropped me off at home. As a tiny token of my appreciation, I helped him upgrade his TEC-II PROM.

Two hours huh? Damn... I guess next time we'd better try unscrewing the bolts instead of cutting them off. Just for curiosity's sake, what's the compression ratio on your EJ22?? I noticed that you had the similiar dished pistons on yours as my EJ22T. Interesting....

CR is widely reported to be 9.7:1. Of course, we'll have exact numbers soon...

You oughta shave them heads while they're out. Know one will know. And "deck" the block and port those intake openings and do a 3 angle valve job and.....

just noticed the outside of engine is very clean-- have you been baby-ing that thing?

Wow. You guys work fast. Lets hope this is the last time you need to do this.

And, since you have a week to wait, I think that engine bay and all accessory parts need some extra cleaning.
