Hi
I have a 2004 1.6 ej16 fwd impreza.
I started to improve the car; the next step is a decent headers.
The engine is not modified aggressively.

Does the car have dual port exhaust or single? Solutions exist for both but you may need slight custom work to mate it with the rest of your exhaust.

How long did it take you to do all that formatting?

I doubt Borla has anything, as they're based in the US, and to my knowledge, there has never been a 1.6l Subaru sold here. Custom, or a manufacturer that would have access to a 1.6 would be your best bet.

they released the 1.6L in japan. i dont know much about the 1.6L but one would assume as it is also a H4 engine, there should be option from borla or replicas out there, depending on if it is single or dual port

I'd probably try the junkyard or maybe Kmart. I know it sounds silly but I've seen them there.

Yes, it's a boxer. The only Subaru's available with an inline engine are their Keicars (R1/R2, Pleo, Stella), the Sambar, and the Justy.

I also just checked Borla's site, like I figured, they don't have anything for the 1.6. Your best bet either Europe or the Middle East, since those were the only regions to officially get that engine in 2004.

For farks sakes guys you act as if the EJ16 is a triangle or something. It shares essentially the same outward dimensions as the ej15 and ej18.

If it has single port heads then the later ej22 manifolds will fit. If it has dual port heads then any of the other manifolds will fit.
