Default ATP/Garrett BB Turbos, Tial Wastegates, Oil Pumps, Engines and tunes

For those of you that don't know, Maxwell Propulsion is where it's at!

We have been building high reliability Subaru engines for aircraft for many years. Located in Arlington at the airport, we have a very large facility (20,000 sq ft +).
At our facility you'll find:
Engine Assembly Clean Rooms
Hanger with Subaru powered Aircraft and install bays
Superflow engine dyno
Engine Techs with over 30 years combined experience
Machine Shop
*Chassis dyno coming soon*

Maxwell Propulsion is your local dealer for ATP factory location Garrett Turbos like the GT35R, 28R, 3071R and 3076R.
If you haven't seen these turbos, you need to!

They are very stylish with polished compressor housings, standard!!

They are full Garrett Dual Ball Bearing Cartridges with custom compressor and turbine housings to fit our tight space requirements in our Subarus.

These turbos spool very fast and feel amazing. For example, the GT3071R spools like the factory VF39/43 but makes over 100 more horsepower.

All turbos come with installation kit that includes all waterlines and silicone outlet tube.

In stock we have:

GT35R w/ adjustable internal wastegate: $1800.00

GT3071R w/ adjustable internal wastegate: $1700.00

Tial 44mm EWG Silver: $370.00
includes flanges and v-band clamps

Tial 38mm EWG Silver: $225.00
includes gaskets, nipples and bolts

11mm Oil Pumps Silver: $160.00
Pumps are disassembled and the relief valve and bore are polished to increase reliability. Factory pump found in the 08STi. Excellent pump for your high hp high rpm build.

Anything else you need or want we can get in short order.

We also do Engine Builds. Dominic and Craig are currently building some very wild custom builds to include a 9k rpm capable 2.35L and a twin GT2860RS turbo system that will make full boost by 3300rpm and carry 700hp at over 8krpm.

Call for more information.

And of course, TUNES!

Maxwell Propulsion is the new home of the Dom Tune! Come get a road tune from Dominic

Open Source, Hydra, Motec, Autronic, AEM, Megasquirt, TEC etc- he does it all and does it well!

Engine dyno is a good option for experimenting with different engine parameters or to break in an engine that needs to have the head bolts (or ARP headstuds with Copper Headgaskets) retorqued after a heat cycle. This prevents you from having the pull the engine after installation to just retorque the heads (major PITA).

The downside is that it is a very time consuming process to put the engine on the dyno and get the support systems hooked up (Especially when considering the type of engine management system that will be used). We currently have it setup for Hydra and megasquirt.

These are all the kinds of details that would be necessary for us to even begin to calculate a rate for usage. We utilize it for our R&D (turbo system testing, torture testing engines etc) and for proving the power output of our engine packages.

In other words, give us a call or an email and tell us your intentions and we can work out a package.

Is the twin GT2860 system destined for a car or an aircraft?

Either way, I think that a pictorial thread would go over very, very well here.

Car.
The kit will require a few custom made components (read: expensive) to function properly. They are still in development, but most of the calculations and engineering is done. Our current workload has slowed the project, but I think it will be complete and tested by the spring. I won't lie, the price tag won't be low due to the complexity, but the power band will be insane.

For pictorial, do you mean pictures of the TT setup or pics of the products for sale?

I'm sure it's way out of my price range, but for sheer coolness it would be hard to beat. I was referring to a pictorial of the TT setup. It would probably get you a lot of attention in a short time, and be the sort of thing where people would look at it and think, "a shop that can pull that off, can surely handle my ______" whatever they need done.

I'll be sure to post pictures of the setup when it's closer to completion. I'm doing some very innovative things that nobody else has done and I don't want to give too much away. There are other shops with more time on their hands that could use my ideas and get it out before us. I don't want to shoot myself in my foot.

if its something no one has done before you can bet it's a variation of something similar to what AMS tried on their 1000 whp built...with the turbo sizes being the same I would imagine its butterfly valve /flow balance between the 2 turbos to open flow to the one turbo when needed...very similar to the Twin-turbo Legacies in japan.

this is more a sequential set-up but the use of butterfly valves is good underlining concept. If you think about it, its the same concept of variable vane turbo only on a mulitple turbo scale. Basicly as flow increase a butterfly would open to the next turbo to allow more airflow to that, to in turn create more power, and not have the lag.

Would love to see some logs or even a dyno plot (preferably logs) of the 3071.

you can come on up to check out the facility anytime mon-thurs. As far as the 787MX, she's down for maintenance right now. We have a lot of little things to tweak/fix/improve. Brand new home builts are like that.

here's a comparo posted by Jon at HBSpeed:

Something that shows power vs rpm would be nice.

Any logs?

There are so many available variations of a built block I wouldn't even know where to start. Prices vary from 2k to 10k dollars.
I would recommend calling the shop and talking to me (Dominic). We can go over all the features you want in your block.
Complete R/R is available.
