Man I wish I had a trunk release button on the key fob for my 2.5i. My 2010 Forester does and I love it!
You're welcome....

Have you checked the battery?

The "chirp" on my '06 stopped working in second year I owned the car. The dealer didn't want to fix it either. Not sure why. It's not an issue anymore since I usually just lock 3 times until the Supertones beep.

I'm looking for a good remote start system for my girlfriend's 2011 Impreza (fully loaded with the TomTom). Any suggestions?

Make sure you put the battery in the right way...sounds stupid, but it happens.

If that doesn't work, the remote is probably toast...

Hello Again,

Any suggestions on this?

My alarm still does not sound or blink lights if doors or trunk are opened while "armed"

Please help.

Ive got a 2003 Impreza TS. Car didnt come with a remote start controller but I am assuming its prewired for one. At the local Upull it I can find a few in 99-2000 outbacl legacies, will these work? Also, heres a pic of my wires under the dash that I think go to the remote start.. am I correct? http://s829.photobucket.com/albums/zz220/dviousdsign/?action=view&current=harness.jpg

Default 02 Blue and red button work for an 07?

Hi all, happy new year! I recently sold my bugeye and found an extra key fob (blue and red button) that wasn't programed for the car and I already had two. I have an 07 hawkeye that only came with one key/fob. I'm wondering if the unprogrammed blue and red fob can be programmed for my 07, has anybody tried this with success? Help? Thank you!

I skimmed this topic and didn't see any similar problems. I did a search as well and didn't see anything either. Kind of odd problem (story of my life!)

My wife and I went out for dinner tonight and took her car (05 wrx non sti) We came home and getting out of the car the remote didn't work to lock the car. She thought it was the battery so I went inside. She came in, replaced the battery and the remote didn't work so she threw it at me and asked me to fix it. I went out with both remotes and neither worked. I tried re-programming them and nothing. I came inside and decided to play with the contacts. On my car the remote was dead even with a known fresh battery so I wound up needing to pry the contacts into position on the negative side. I pried them up a bit on her remote and also discovered that... she had put the battery in backwards. Voila... problem solved, right? Wrong. The remote works but it ONLY works when you are either in the car, immediately next to the driver side door, or on the passenger side but with the remote touching the glass.

So the problem seems to be the range. The problem is that there is no range Below is a list of things I've tried... wondering if anyone has any suggestions:

- replaced batteries with known fresh ones (I recently went through problems with the remote on my car and all of the batteries wound up being good once I figured out the problems with the remote itself.

- pried up the negative contacts to hopefully give better contact/conductivity

- cleaned all contacts with rubbing alcohol

- successfully reprogrammed both remotes

- put it into and out of valet to see if that made a difference

Any ideas? Seems like it's an issue on the receiving (car) end of things?

I installed Apexi TT according manual:

http://www.scoobymods.com/turbo-time...=&threadid=228
You can either connect the harness, or splice into the factory wires if you did not get a harness. Only attach the 12+ and the Ignition wire, do not attach the accessory wire to the turbo timer.
The accessory wire at the ignition juction must be tapped and a length of wire must be run to the alarm module located above the fuse panel. Look directly above the fuse panel and you will see it. Remove the connector and look for a dark green wire with a black strip (there are two green/black wires, make sure it's the darkest green of the two). Cut the wire and attach the length of wire to the module side. Tape off the extra green/black wire.
Another juction must be made from the accessory wire from the ignition harness. This must go to the other alarm module located in the center console.
Remove the plastic piece that surrounds the parking brake (piece where the mirror controls are). Pull up from the back, it's just a snap in piece.
There is a grey wire that goes to the sensor module. You must cut this wire and splice the accy wire on the module side. Tape the extra grey wire to the side. This splice will allow the alarm to be set while the TT is counting down.
Ground the TT, and then mount the remote panel.
Test it out and then put the car back together and have fun.

but I can't lock my car and arm security system while TT is counting down. Perhaps, I chose wrong black/green and grey wires?
Some pics of the wires:

I have an 05, lost the remote and just changed the battery. Every time i unlock the car, the alarm sounds. I see the 3 key turn solution but is there anyway to reset the alarm without the remote, so this does not happen any more? I understand this has probably been addressed, so my apologies in advance for my newbness. Try to search as much as possible. Thanks.

Ahh.. thank youuuu

This seems similar to a problem I am having right now. My car was not responding to any keyfob buttons so I replaced the battery, resynced it and everything semed back to normal...the next day same thing happened so I knew it wasn't the battery. I realized that the only location that this happens is if I park on the street in front of my condo building. If I park in the back or sides it works fine, but for some reason directly in front of the building (for the whole block) the key will not work.
Today I parked out front and found that the alarm system worked if the key was touching the car, but one step away it didnt. It seems that something is blocking/limiting the range of my key when I am in this location, (everywhere else the key has good range). Besides not parking here, does anyone have any ideas?

I have an issue that I didn't see discussed but may have missed it, has anyone had a problem with keyless entry reprogramming where a turbo timer is present? I had my 02 WRX at the dealer on Monday and they couldn't get it to program either, and said that it may be due to the timer. Anyone else have this problem? Any ideas how to get it to work? Anything will help thanks

my problem may be similar to the one above me but i have removed my turbo timer:
i busted my old keyless entry fob (02 blue/orange one) so i ordered a new one and took it to the dealership to program and after trying for a while, they said that for some reason it wouldnt work and it has something to do with the car itself?

I do have an accesport hooked up and never had problems with the keyless entry before i got the new fob. They said it owuld be $100 and hour to diagnose problem!!

PLease help, im sure this has happened to someone else. Dk if it matters but i used to have a turbo timer installed and the one wire had to be cut so the alarm wouldnt go off while cooling at idle..have since removed. PLease HELP GUYS!!

Default Keyless not doing anything

I cant seem to find a scenario on here where the factory keyless entry system/alarm completely doesnt work. Ive done all the procedures to reprogram the remotes, changed batteries, and checked fuses. One morning i went to unlock my car and nothing. I cant get it to do anything. Ive tried messing with the contacts and also tried with my spare remote.
Thanks

Question Flashing Security Light

When I removed the clock to do the 510 resistor fix I noticed that the Security light was indicating the car was in Valet Mode. I've searched and tried just about every possible combination of pressing/holding the remote buttons to to get it turned off. No such luck! It flashes twice, pause and flashes twice. I've opened the door and held the Unlock/Disarm button down until my thumb started to cramp... To no avail... Any ideas? Should I disconnect the battery? If so, how long until the ECU is reset?

Help!!! Help!!! Help!!!
