I know Valet mode disables this, but I am still pretty confused..

What is pragmatic about the alarm going off when you unlock you car with the key? (Not in Valet mode obviously)

Unhappy Please Help!

I have a 2000 Impreza and lost my remote. My alarm inadvertantly went off and now I can start my car.
I have tried turning the key on and off 4x but that did not help.

Any thoughts?

Ia it a factory or aftermarket alarm?

Default Keyless entry/no alarm

Hi, I have looked for answers in the forums and haven't found it yet. I recently purchased a 2000 Impreza Outback Sport and trying to program remote. I don't have the tophat under dash, but do have a balck box with red light. I have tried several times to hold the red button on black box (red light comes on and flashes 2 times). I push the lock button on remote, lock are supposed to cycle, yet nothing has worked yet. Do I need to key the ignition several times? Any help? Thanks, Mark

It almost sounds as if you have an aftermarket alarm...Can you read anything off of the box?

Hi. I have a recently purchased 2004 WRX (bought from an individual). Recently the panic alarm started going off by itself in the middle of the night. Sometimes it even goes off while I'm driving. Is there an easy way to disable the panic alarm and still leave the horn functional? Thank you.
Edited: Actually, I don't care if it's easy or not, what would I have to do to disable the panic alarm?

Are you sure it is a factory alarm? If not, you need to find out what kind of system it is.

It is possible that the sensitivity is set too high or it was installed properly.

What does your remote look like? Does it look like the ones in this thread?

Per your owners manual:

Quote:
Tripped sensor identification:

The security indicator light flashes when the alarm system has been triggered. Also, the number of flashes indicates the location of unauthorized intrusion or the severity of impact on the vehicle.

When the ignition switch is turned to the “ON” position, the indicator light will light for 1 second and then flash as follows:

. When a door or rear gate (5-door) was opened: 5 times
. When a door or the trunk (4-door) was opened: 4 times
. When the ignition switch was turned to the “ON” position: 3 times
. When a strong impact or multiple impacts were sensed: twice (only vehicles
with shock sensors (dealer option))
. When a light impact was sensed: once (only vehicles with shock sensors (dealer option))

NOTE

Any of the above indicator light flashings will recur each time the ignition
switch is turned to the “ON” position. Rearming the alarm system cancels the
flashing.

Thanks for the reply, but,I have a 5door and this light flashes all the time, with the key in the ignition or not. All doors and rear gate are closed properly atleast the light in the dash for doors open is not lit. I've set the alarm on and off still these 4 flashes alll the time.

Thanks for the reply. I have the new style with orange and blue buttons. Does the panic alarm have sensitivity? I thought it just goes off when you push the panic button on the remote. As far as I know, the regular alarm is in Valet mode. I can shake the car all day long and it won't go off. But the panic alarm just goes off when it feels like it - usually at 3:00 am

quick question, my 02 wrx has the factory alarm and keyless entry.

but when i unlock the car via the remote it only does the driver door. is there a way to get all four doors to unlock? its really annoying to have to walk all the way around the car to unlock the back doors.

Press the button twice in quick succession. The first unlocks the drivers door, the second unlocks the rest

Sounds like you have a bad remote or you programmed it incorrectly.

The light on the remote basically tells you the battery is good and it is sending signal.

I would try programming it again and see what happens. Disconnect the battery first to reset everything. (instructions are in this thread)

I have tried disconnecting the battery, everytime I follow the instructions I don't get a beep or honk after the 10 times within 15 seconds. Perhaps the previous owner messed something up when he installed his stereo?

I'm sure you probably could, or buy an aftermarket addition to the siren, but I don't know of anyone that has done it.
