OK, the world's biggest +1 for having the most honest thread title in the history of NASIOC

however, about -1000000 for horrible, horrible writing. I'm honestly not entirely sure what you're trying to say. I think:

1) You got a P0320 CEL
2) You changed the coil pack for cylinder 2
3) You got the P0320 CEL again
4) You had the compression checked and cylinder 2 was 50psi lower than cylinder 4. What about cylinders 1 and 3?

You could find a used block or even an STi block for less than they are quoting you to rebuild it. Thats what I would do if I were you. What are your power goals and do you really need forged internals? I say 2.5l hybrid build! Also, fill out the rest of your profile, it'll help with us trying to answer your questions if we have some background like where you live what you drive.

True. You can get a built 2.5L for like ~$2500. Don't have them rebuild your 2.0L. Why not go bigger for cheaper than your price quote?

why is everyone jumpin on short blocks when we dont even know what the problem is??? that shop shoulda done some diag to see if it was A)the plug B) the coil pack C) a compression issue D) fuel injector

was the compression test dry or wet? if it was dry then it could just be a valve problem, its it was wet then yea it would be a ring problem.

I was saying if the shop (which they most likely aren't and it sounds like they're just trying to make a quick buck) the motor was actually toast and needed to be rebuilt/replaced/etc. By all means, if the motor proves to be fine...it's still in your best interest to get a biult 2.5L
