Default Question about an upcoming race

Well I've got an 02 wrx with the stock td04 with an ssac top mount tuned on e85 at around 11.8-12 afr at 19 psi in 4th. So far I've run a mid 13 on a ****ty drag track. I'm going to be racing a 05 m3 tommorow on a closed airport strip with permission from the owner of course, and stock m3's apparently run around a 13.2-13.3 according to a couple sources. Does anyone think I have any sort of chance against the car?

ps. wrong forum.

11.8-12 on boost are you nuts? 11.7 is as high as most people go on boost cause its can cause the cylinders to run a bit leaner. good way to cook a motor. you should be any were from 11.5 to 10.5 the more fuel you run it helps with keepin the cylinders cooler and helps prevent knock.

that my thoughts.

ps i run 11.0 afr

On e85 that is spot on afr.... Depends on what year m3, never mind if he knows how to drive he will probably own you. Just like the first reply, its a drivers race.

Stock exhaust? If so, good luck.

If you're on aftermarket exhaust/uppipe and a good tune, it's a driver's race.

Sorry, but this ain't the right forum for this....

yeap, a stock tweeze traps around 105 if driven well... your best bet is to nail down your lauch and make sure you shut her down at the top of 3rd. once you hit 4th it's only a matter of time...

I have a VF-39 WRX... I can now beat my friends E-46, it`s a close one (up top ) probably more of a drivers race. I beat E-36's on stage 2

i have an e36 and e46 m3. is it stock? they trap 105-108, 109-110 isnt unheard of. your outgunned unless its a newb driver.

if its from a roll with an SMG car in s6 - look for taillights

110 seems unreasonable. Ive seen 108.xxx once and he had drags on the car. The 08 M3 traps 112.0
From a 30-140 roll my buddy's 08 M3 6spd only managed to get a
car on me, on pump gas. On race gas I would have destroyed him
and even though being one of the sexiest cars on the road, E46's
can't hang at all against the pump gas map.

It comes down to how aggressively the OP is tuned, and how well he can drive.

107-109 is normal for sea level cars with a good driver. my vf34 car felt fsater and only trapped 111 (jr tuned)

my m3 has bolt ons, find one with gears not out of the ordinary to be doing 110-111.

you have a vf43 sti, he has a td04 wrx - apples to oranges.

DCT in the fastest mode it will do damage from a roll (08)

I agree that the 08's are just nasty cars, im just implying that I wish the E46's were a little faster because I would have owned one. I know Im 24 yrs old, but I still love speed a little more than a bling classy look, this subject to change probably within the next few years.

i had a low 12 wrx,

e46 is not a drag car, its a total package. i grew out of the boy racer stuff. I let my friends 400+whp sti smoke me all the time i look damn good in the rearview.

And WRX's are drag cars ? 90% of this forum is the misuse of subaru's lol.

I dont care though, good place to find info, however I'm more of a road course fan.
