Default BD5 2.5GT STi Intake Snorkle?

I have a 98 2.5GT Limited and it's auto. I looked into my engine bay and noticed that my car has the same opening as the STi, where the intake snorkle goes. So I was wondering will the STi Intake snorkle fit my 98 Legacy?

Here's a pic of the part I'm talking about. Thank you all know help.

But from what I see the STi intake snorkle goes into the fenders of an STi. I got the same hole in my Legacy.

yeah but the regular ones shoot right into the airbox, probably better than following a path down into a fender

I used a WRX ram air scoop to replace our "hot air intake" on my 2.5i. I had to use some window seal tape (1/4"? 3/8"?) wrapped around the snorkus in the fender to make the seal from the wider WRX scoop to this snorkus better. It's not perfect but it works. You could check on the "A problem with CAI/SRI's and a solution finally" sticky thread at the top of the N/A board

Better intake, I whould like to get a CAI but don't have the cash flow now so a small upgrade for now will do. Maybe within a month or so I'll get a CAI.

i did the same, but cut a couple slits on the sides of the wrx/sti scoop and taped it so it was the same size...

check weapon-r.com for an intake. the dragon intake fits the legacy and impreza and is $152, which is not bad for the quality of intake.
