Well the proto mount that rallysportdirect.com has is nice. I have one and they were definitely designed for use with the access port.

a couple-few updated pics with it on the car. again, i've already had to send my AP back to COBB because i broke the dongle receptor playing with cheap mounts.

the Go Pro Hero mount works awsome sauce! it's sturdy, adjustable - therefore "safe" as i have it set close to the steering wheel for quick on/off while taking data logs.

I got one back in July and love it. No more messing around with crappy cell phone holders, this one is made for the accessport v2.
Well this thread got a healthy bump from the dead.

I'll throw in some input I guess. +1 for the proto holder. Works perfect clipped into the vent in the dash by the A pillar for defogging the side window.

Why hack a gopro mount when the proto was made to perfectly fit it?

Zip tie it to your cage and snake the cable in and out of the A-pillar gussets.

Not all of us have racecar Khanh

The proto mount seems to be the end-all solution. The 3m tape holding it to my dash is slowly starting to peel in one corner (probably because I didn't clean the area with the alcohol wipe). But I can always just cut another peice of double sided tape and re-do it in the future.

i saw a mount at Big Lots i *almost* wanted to try out since it was only $7 pesos.

then i thought "why would i do that? i'm good" but what if i wanted to data log while having my Go Pro mounted. OMG! worst day ever!

okay, seriously, it was another suction cup mount with a straight arm to hold cell phones of blackberry and iPhone size. but i don't want my lower windshield to look like a CVPI.

Well the features are more than just a boost guage; it logs fuel consumption, hp, and tons of other things. I wouldn't mind keeping that thing mounted. I wouldn't get a huge mount like some I've seen, but I'd prob go the velcro route. Chilax, if it ain't yours- dont worry about it.

Are you seriously comfortable with that mount location? it doesnt obstruct your view nor have you been pulled over for it? lol. Jeez, I got a ticket for having a damn air freshner hanging from my rear view mirror (switched to vent mounted air freshners since, amazing little gadgets!).

+3 for the proto mount, works out quite well, and if you don't mind buying a spare trim panel for like 13 bucks like me : )....then you can probably even cut a hole big enough in the trim piece to get the wire through and then it can be all hidden in the dash except where it meets the AP.

The proto mount sucks. First one lasted 3 months in the drivers vent and then the clip wouldnt hold it in place anymore. Spent the $5 and got the replacement clip and guess what, 3 months later and the exact same thing happened. I dont want to screw it in like above poster plus I have an a/f gauge going in that vent soon. I'm using velcro now up by the radio and oem cluster and it looks great. Only problem is that the heat/cold is making the velcro not stick longer than a few weeks before I have to change it out. Can't find any adhesive with good heat exhange properties that won't cause the ap to fall off.

Question, what do you guys do when youre not in your car? Obviously you can't leave it plugged in. But do you leave a $500 tuner in the holder still? Just curious! I almost always take it out and put it in the glove box or wherever
