why disable them? didn't you pay extra for them? i like the puddle lights personally. I've installed a few on the Tribecas/Forresters. The harness for them is inside each front fender, towards the door side (i'd say anywhere from 1-3 o'clock if you think of the fender well as the top half of a clock). I'd just pop some of the plastic rivets holding the fender liner in and pull the liner back and look for the harness. disconnect it on each side. tape the 2 ends with electrical tape so water, etc.. doesn't get into the connectors. reconnect them whenever you want them again.

Why would you want to disable them? This is a very cool and unque feature that I think ALL Ubarus should have as standard equipment not only for the cool factor, but for the added safety they provide if you ever have to get out of the vehicle on a dark road for whatever reason (flat tire? take a leak?).

Yeah, I paid for our puddle lights. I can't think of any reason to disable them.

It uses LED's. The best way would be to unplug the harness behind the front wheel wells.

bike races they seem intrusive on others. I usually wear a headlamp anyway..
