the route that i took is the cheapest easy route. if you really want cheap... get used ebay dp for 50, install it yourself, and get a tactrix cable for 50 bucks and do your own tuning (at your own risk). i didnt want to do all that. essentially, mine is all plug and play.
now i see. hows the double heat shield?

im not saying the IAT's won't change, but you can't physically feel the difference between any of the 3 "mods" that are mentioned.

Cut around the edge of the belly with the exception of the the mounting tab.
You will thank me. You will have a cold air intake and if you ever hit a puddle of water, the top snorkel will take over untill you exit such puddle.

Now go and have fun.
+1. that's what i did too. the bottom hole (by DIY cutting) of the snorkel nicely aligns with the fog lamp cover hole which allows cold air to enter...

He's saying it wouldn't be wise to just throw on an intake that hasn't been proven to be safe on an otherwise stock motor. Some intakes that haven't had too many issues (if any) are the Cobb SF Intake and the SPT Intake.

....d000000000000d.....

here it is simple like

figure out what steps you want to mod in.....id get all the junk for 'stage2' and do it all in one shot and
get a tune
and be done

do NOT put **** on your car piecemeal

an intake is, really, pointless and possibley dangerous to your engine

Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't the snorkus keep water out of the intake/engine? Acts like a filter type thing?

Okay.

After reading the mindf*** that was the snorkus removal thread, I feel like I know 10% less than I did about fluid dynamics previously (which used to be zero), and all I really want to know is:

If I want to hear a little more intake and the BOV, will this be accomplished by removing the snorkus without negative effects on the car?

No answers involving the theory of relativity or Pythagorean theorem, or a mindless flame war, just an answer to a newbie question would be appreciated.

edit: I bumped the wrong thread...ugh.

I wish there were snorkdeletes for the 08/09. with all these 09 engines blowing up the last thing I want to do is to throw an intake on. I want that nice sound though!!!

Im jealous of all you IWG guys that get noise from going snorkusless. Even at 20PSI I cant hear my BPV through my APS CAI, because all I hear is the roaring sound of the External Wastegate.

Im working on tuning my Internal Wastegate map, and after the first pull at 15PSI, All I could say was "holy isht the BPV is loud"

Oddly enough, my exhaust gets quieter at high RPM.
