Default Tire Pressure Light Flashing

On Friday I noticed that the TPM system light was on our 06, obviously indicating low pressure in one or several of the tires. I topped off each tire to an agreeable pressure and went about my merry way. About 15 minutes into my trip to upstate NY the TPM light started to flash. I checked the manual and it says the light will flash if the TPM isn't working correctly.
Any one have any experience with this? All I did was fill up the tires with air...nothing crazy. Any ideas? Car is out of warranty BTW.

Not to doubt your abilities, but are you sure the tire just doesn't have a leak? If you are past the 60,000 mile warranty and are still on the original tires, they surely are in need of replacement.

it is possible that the sensor has an issue but the only way to check it is to take the tire off the rim

secondly did you use the air pressure thing at the air pump or your own

i have a gas station near me that will say the air is at 35 and ill check it with my gauge and its really at 25

And the TPMS will also on if your tire pressure is too high! I'd check the tire pressure when tires are cold the compare to what the manual or the stick on the door post says. If it is within spec, you may need to get it fixed. I've read that these sensors in the tire can go bad.
