Default When not having a front plate goes right!

FYI: This isn't a "I was speeding and got pulled over and got a ticket and I'm angry since it's not my fault" thread at all. I definitely would have been fine with getting a ticket since I was going over the limit.

So after spending an amazing 3 days snowboarding up in Mammoth for opening weekend myself and some friends were heading back to San Francisco in my car. Not being in a hurry and not wanting any run-ins with the CHP I set the cruise control to 75 (65 limit) and trust that and my V1 will get us home smoothly. We go up a hill and as soon as we go over the crest the V1 does it thing and we see the CHP about 60 yards away. I slow down immediately and hope that 75 isn't enough to bring him out. It is, he pulls out and before he can put the lights on I pull over (I was the only one it could have been). Comes up lets me know he got me at 75 and pulled me over because the section of the road is apparently notorious for deer and I really should be going 65. Some of the usual BS including talking about snowboarding and checking to see that my friends who were just waking up in the backseats were actually sleeping and not just on a ton of drugs He then asks me about my exhaust (Greddy TiC) and asks me to turn on the car so he can hear how loud it is. Let's me know it's definitely over the noise limit. Next he asks about my front windows, let's me know the tinting is illegal. Also asked if I had an intake which would also be illegal (except mine is the STi add on with the CARB sticker but didn't feel like getting into that discussion ). I'm sitting there thinking of the laundry list ticket I'm about to get and adding up how much it's going to cost me. He starts talking about how a lot of cops target cars like Subarus and Mitsubishis since they usually have things like this that are easy targets. He then adds that he isn't one of those cops and really doesn't care that much. He says "How about this. You're going to slow down a bit and I'll ignore the speeding, the exhaust and anything else and just write you up for your tint." I reply "That sounds like a plan" and am about to add "thank you, sir" when he asks "wait, do you have a front license plate?" to which I say "I don't, it's in the back here but I don't have the screws". He says "Ok, how about instead of the tint, I'll just write you up for that since it's easier for you. You'll need to get a cop to sign off that you put it on so you'll want to make sure he's a cool cop since he'll have to ignore the exhaust and tint like I am". I agree and thank him for the break. All in all best experience I've ever had being pulled over

CNs: Cruise Control at 75 in a 65. Pulled over. CHP points out mods that are illegal on my car but ends up ignoring everything and writes me for my missing front plate.

CHP seems to be a little better than most. Hey were you w/ CPSC back @ Poly? I'm hoping to do a little back country stuff w/ Jared Cummings before he heads out, before Steamboat. I'm Sarah Coustette's older Brother. Sounds like Mammoth was sic

Brandon.

Haha yeah man, I was the VP of Activites after Jared and the VP of Finance the year after that. Definitely know Sarah and all them, surprised we've never met haha. I'll definitely be up in Tahoe this year so hopefully we can all rage together!

Sweet! I'm looking forward to it. It sounds like Sara and Travis are going to have another great new years party. We have to take advantage of riding flat star for free with her pass hook up.
