Default 2010 Ford Mustang: Prices and details leaked

Quote:
In less than a day we are going to be hearing the official details about the new 2010 Mustang while bits and pieces of information are still trickling out of the web. The most recent news is that we now have an alleged price tag and option data on at least the Mustang GT Premium package. If this information is accurate, the GT Premium will go up by an estimated $935 making it to $30,095 to purchase.

This is an increase of 3.2%. The perusal of the list of equipment for the GT shows that there are some new features such as the 18-inch wheels that were beforehand optional and SYNC. Other equipment that are standard consists of automatic headlamps, LED tail-lights and body-colored mirrors.

If this data is correct, then one other irritation of the 2005-2009 Mustangs has been given a solution with an interior trunk release, something that was missing previously. Ford will soon also be making known everything, so keep posted. ***********

I guess they are betting that the old school ford peeps who are on fixed income will be standing in line for the lastest copy of the old school Pony?
Who under the age of 50 find this car even the slightest bit interesting?

I hate mustangs (and many people who drive them), but like following the evolution of the design. This looks like its incrementally more interesting

i don't notice anything much different than the current mustangs........maybe that's because I don't really pay attention to them.

I believe you would get more positive responses posting this on a Mustang forum.

Unless your motive was to stir the waters from some testy Subaru owners. BTW, I bet the 09 wrx would blow this things sockets off!

^^^ There's a reason why this subforum is about Non-Subarus.

That's funny about the 05-09 'Stangs not having an interior trunk release. Can you pop it via remote, or is it truly oldschool and you have to use a key?

Those new tails look like a huge improvement. The current ones have never looked modern... even in the intended retro sort of way.

I'll wait till I see the whole package, but I've never been a fan of Mustangs, mostly because I see the Mustang as all that is wrong with the Detroit automakers... i.e. Ford has done juuuust enough to the car to keep sales going... No real advances, no new technology, nothing exciting... it's the same formula rehashed every few years with just enough updates to keep sales from tanking. They don't try going after the Europeans in the handling department, they don't try going after the Japanese in the quality department... just keep on keepin' on.

The new Mustang was redesign in 2005, so this generation is already 4 years old - and only now do they get around to lightly restyling it? (and that is what this looks like - only a small restyling job)

I just can't imagine anyone wanting this car over a Camaro unless Ford has some major surprises still to be announced.

Haha I wonder if the photographer or whomever contracted the photographer thought that mustangs are like women, they all look good in the dark

Ford must be awfully proud of the steering mounted cruise control. Why is that a "teaser" shot? (unless it's a warp drive)

Totally agree with first paragraph.

Regarding the refresh of this generation Mustang... uhh, that's a pretty typical period for all carmakers. Don't be fooled just because Subaru refreshes the Impreza every two years. RX-8 is five years old and just got a refresh, the 350Z got a refresh after 4 years (and a new model now, two years later), etc. Hell, the last gen Mustang went way longer with no refresh.

Apparently though, this new Mustang is getting a price hike, and the GT will apparently still have the 4.6L. Hope there's a power bump at least to the Shelby GT's 330hp, because yeah, I see anyone buying this instead of a Camaro as going full retard.

So... How about that shell with a twin-turbo direct-injected 3.5L V6?

Any takers then?

No 5.0 V8 or at least a 50hp increase, no sale

The interior looks 2.37% better than the current design.
