Are there any legit lowering springs for the 09 yet that are more than the .4" that the STI pinks lower it but will work with the OEM dampers? I'm only looking for an inch. Seems that most 08 aftermarket upgrades are actually downgrades for the 09.

Alright so I didn't read through all 5 pages, but i can tell you this much. For those that are serious about doing some moderate "rallying" with their car (such as I), we want something that will give us some more ground clearance!!! PLEASE!!! There are 3 that i have ran into in the past 2 days that want something to give their car 1-2 inches more ground clearance. please tell me you're looking into this. Thanks!!

Well this is the first "I" have heard of this and since we dont specialize in that, I dont think we would be doing that.

You can add me to the list of 09 drivers looking for better springs. I just want something simple and not as drastic as coilovers moneywise, but will lower me and give me better handling

You may get springs that lower you, but you aren't going to find any that improve handling much (our springs have the same spring rate as the STI)...as in the springs should be assumed to be aesthetic. Thicker sway bars (front and rear) and solid endlinks will make a night and day difference, however.

a spring that will lower me at least half inch with a higher spring rate would be a dream come true. are there any springs that are an upgrade from stock springs and will work with stock struts that are available?

If these new springs stiffen my ride up a bit with minimal drop I'm in. A half inch drop would be nice but I really just want something a little stiffer that will work with stock struts.

IMNSHO the '09 suffers from a lack of damper control more so than spring rate. From a performance standpoint adjustable dampers (strut and shocks) would do the handling much good. Something to prevent it from wanting to rebound as soon as the suspension sets would go a very VERY long way.

^ that is very true- the oe dampers are "adequate" nothing more- that's one of the reasons it's going to take Myles and the crew a little bit longer as a heavier spring is just not the way to go w/ the oe dampers

once a damper is developed a guy (or gal ) will have the option of a damper only or a damper and uprated spring

Default Springs

Add me to the list for lower springs with stock dampers. I would love to get coilovers, but out of my price range right now. Just looking for a little drop to take the gap out of the fenders, my main performance gains will be coming from sways....

For those wanting to lower their cars, remember that the 08+ cars are severely travel limited. combine that with the inadequate damping characteristics and you won't find a spring that lowers much if you want to use your stock struts. To get lower you'll need to be much stiffer and the damper won't be able to handle that.

Hopefully Myles is working with KW or Bilstein to create a lowered bodied adjustable fixed perch strut that is still reasonable in cost, i.e. not Íhlins priced.

Please include me in the interested list.

Because despite the lack in power, I feel that my old 2007 non turbo will beat my new car in a very technical course.

Myles, am planning to be there this year. Was in Sydney in June testing Whiteline/eEmotiv.com 's Blackbox at Wakefield so I want to touch base with them here. But I won't need to work the stand so I'll be free to hang and wander the aisles with you.
