Default The rare 2.2l...power

Hey ok so i just got a 2.2 OBS which i just rebuilt the motor on and im looking to make a rally beater/winter car. i have a stg2.5 05rex and im missing power allready im not big into the NA game but iv been looking and i still have my 2.25 stock WRX exhauast which i can cobb to fit but is there anything esle i can do power wise for little expence? and rally worthy? please i just need some decent options.

o ok i forgot to mention NO CAI, i said rally and im not looking to run my car off mud and water... sorry forgot to add that thanks again

Shame you didn't ask before you rebuilt the motor. The EJ22 heads work good on a EJ25 block, and Delta Cams wake it up even further. That would be your ideal way to go.

For what you have now, you can open the exhaust up, but the WRX can is no upgrade. What year is the motor? Are the heads single or dual (exhaust)port? Dualport heads accept any EJ25 exhaust header but have smaller valves and ports. The singleport heads are better, but nobody makes a header for them anymore. DIY, or mufflershop special.

Jay is right. Should have asked prior to rebuild. But... all is not lost. You can still add cams.($93.00/ea) from Delta. Also, a Perfect Power 6 piggy back will improve the maps and get you a bit more power. To fully utilize the cams and piggyback you should also add an air intake and improved exhaust.
