So your rims are rubbing? Or the tires? There are many people with the same size rims as the rotas but not rotas (i.e Volk, OZ and such) It really depends on the tires. Of course if your rims were rubbing... that would be really bad.

Default My setup

Rota Subzeros from the original group buy waaay back in the end of summer 2001.

ET 48mm of course. I'm running on Toyo T1-S's in the ever-so-popular 215-45R17 size. Stock suspension, so I'm obviously at stock ride height.

No rubbing whatsoever.

LaterZ!

Also Gary Sheenan runs the Rotas Subzeros in a 45 offset which in theory rub more than 48.

But it depends on where you are rubbing.

Umm, Gary isn't running them on a GC8. There's a BIG difference between a GC8 and the new GDA when dealing with wheel/tire fitment problems.

I've got a set of Rota Tarmacs with 225/45 17" Falken Azenis. These tires rubbed on another GC8, so the previous owner sold them to me.

I've got KYB AGX shocks with Ground Control coilover sleeves. The car is lowered a bit -- 11 threads from the top in the rear and 13 threads from the top in front. Shocks run at 2F 4R on the street. I should also mention that I've got camber bolts in the rear and run 0 degrees of camber on the back at the moment.

Here's the thing -- when I put them on, they were totally fine around town over fairly large bumps and potholes, but I eventually got them to rub a little bit when I hit a bump during 45-60mph cornering (ie. fairly heavy suspension load) so I had the rear fenders rolled (if you don't know what rolling the fenders is, do a search. ) and haven't had any problems since. The new summer alignment is going to feature .25 to .5 degrees of negative camber on the rear too which would help even more with the not-rubbing action.

I have 17" Rota's wrapped in 214/45-17 HTRZ's. My tires are rubbing in the rear, because I have KYB/AGX's with MRT 30mm(1") springs. They only rub when turning really hard. looks like I will have to roll the rear fenders...Rob
