Thumbs up Ford Fusion Hybrid & Fusion Sport

Ford Fusion Hybrid:

Quote:
The 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid shares all of the exterior, interior and refinement upgrades bestowed upon the 2010 Ford Fusion and builds on top of that solid foundation with an upgraded hybrid system, improved tuning and the slick new SmartGauge LCD screen. The Hybrid Fusion, along with the Mercury Milan Hybrid, is Ford's first foray into the hybrid sedan market and comes with timing that makes it seem like Ford's freakishly clairvoyant. Let's take a look at the things which make the the new Fusion hybrid tick, along with more pictures and all that Ford has to say below the jump.
At lot more info at the link above.

We got a sneak peak at the 2010 Ford Fusiona while back, but now on the eve of its reveal at the LA Auto Show, we can bring you the complete details on Ford's latest salvo in the battle for America's sedan-buying hearts and minds. The new Fusion brings sleeker styling, more fuel-efficient and powerful engines, and a higher quality interior. That says a lot as the original Fusion was pretty strong on most of those fronts to begin with. Complete analysis, details, and more pictures below.
A lot more info at the link above.

OK, this PAINS me to say this, but I am fairly impressed with these preliminary shots and limited information. Still though, if they are priced right and actually live up to some of this info, these are pretty decent cars.

I REALLY love the Hybrid's LCD gauge cluster. Waiting to hear what it's EPA numbers will be. They are saying that it would get 5 mpg better than the Camry hybrid, which would be hella impressive. I am also impressed with the fact that it can hit 47 mph before the gas engine kicks in.

Well it definitely looks better now, maybe with some decent marketing they could get some good sales.

Indeed ...I can't believe I'm saying this either ....but if these cars do live up
to what is currently written about them ... I am very Impressed!

I really do want to see progress in this country … news bits like this
give me hope….. hopefully not “too good to be true.”

I don't know what the author means by the timing of the hybrid release being "freakishly clairvoyant". Gas is below $2 and falling.

Yes, I too believe it's a short-term dip, but I doubt most consumers are thinking very far ahead when it comes down to spending a few thousand more dollars for a hybrid.

That looks great, but I think a different grille could actually make it marketable to more people.

I currently live in Scotland and the Ford's here are actually quite nice. I really do hope Ford and GM can pull it together. So far, I really like what this has to offer.
