Default Winter tire/wheel question

I bought an 09 legacy and have an old set of studded winter tires/wheels that still have life in them. My question is:

Can I replace the stock 205/50R17's with my old set of studded tires and steel wheels that measure 185/65R15?

According to this http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html your winter tire setup would run 2.4% smaller. (speedo reads faster, more miles)

Which Legacy do you have? It doesnt look like tirerack offers a 15" winter package, so that makes me think the 15" would not clear your brakes. Might be easier to pull one of your fronts off and test it.

i think you have a tire pressure band inside the wheels. so beware of that. will set off an indicator light
