Default When to switch to winter tires?

Well I know that the rubber on summer tires isn't especially cut out for cold temperatures. I'm wondering, it's not snowing yet and I still have summer tires on my car. Should I wait for snow to switch, or will the winter tires work better even without snow because the rubber is designed for the cold temperature?

BTW tires are blizzak lm-25's

If temperature, when you drive, drops below 45F I would have switched.

I'm still on my summers. They aren't the stock rubber, though. I am also keeping a very VERY close eye on them.

I will probably get them swapped out on Monday, since the temps will be staying consistently below 45 or so. Now, if it would just SNOW already, I could handle this coldness a little better.

will using summer tires in cold weather cause the rubber to wear fast because of its hardness?

no, they are just like driving on bricks with less than optimal traction when it is cold.

they could wear faster if you are spinning them all the time for fun because of the cold

you got the winters, throw them on now
