Default built ej205 1/4 mile

I literally only made a few clean passes. The car was held back by a begginer driver.

I think the car had 11's in it on pump with a good 60ft.

Hey japs nice runs...whats going on with the tranny?

Also, whats an sz55 equivelant too? Just curious...I'm trying to compare my pump gas runs to yours. I went 12.1@115 with a 1.88 short time. My turbo is the dom 2.5r 3071 center cartridge in the mitsu 20g housing.

Not sure of the differences between the two. I think they are fairly similar tho. The 11.5 was the one and only pass on race gas it made. The car definitely had more in it.

The SZ55 is a 55lb/min turbo, which puts it at a little larger than a 3076R - which is 52lb/min.

The 2.5r is a 47lb/min.

So from smallest to largest: 20G - 3071R/Dom 2.5R - 3076R - SZ55

350 on pump and 420ish on C16. I actually turned the boost down on both pump and race gas before even running the car. It was only 40 degrees outside and was affraid I'd hit boost cut.

Heads have +1mm valves and some blending done. That is it other than springs of course.

how were your 60-fts coming along? curious about the 2.0L and that big first gear. Were you slipping the clutch or spinning tires?

any time slips?

I'd be interested to see how things were out to the 330.

Pump gas the car didn't spin at all. Racegas is a different story. It spun almost immediately and didn't stop till mid second gear. The spinning was much worse on the pass that broke something so I'm wondering if that had anything to do with it. I don't recall any wheel hop tho.

Only other issue I had with the tranny was with the gearing.... I topped out 4th gear. I was all over the rev limiter on the 11.5 run and coasted through the traps. I thought the car would be good up to 130 or so in 4th.

I've been toying with the idea of upgrading diffs and getting some sticky tires and setting out for a 10 second pass with the 205 and stock location turbo... just not sure how to handle the gearing. Would just going to something smaller than a 3.9 help? That or get a built 5th gear?

fred, what tire size are you running now? i might still have the ratios for the gearsets and you are on 3.9:1 right?

what is redline set at too?

Listening to the video again, it sounds a lot like when I blew up the spider gears in my rear diff (from spinning and catching traction on a launch) more so than when I blew up the pinion gear.

Does the car make noise when driving straight or only when turning? does it still drive should be my first question

You excite me man. Our builds are pretty close except mine is going into a GC8 with a 6mt. I'm interested to hear your redline also. Also what cams are you running again?

Car still drives. It just wont come out of gear at all. There is tons of play in first and second gear. No feel in the stick at all and its locked out of everything else. I don't really recall a noise at all. Redline is set at 7800. Turbo is too small to spin it any higher. Unsure of the tire size. Stock I guess. I'd have to go look.

Cams are Crower 280/280's.

makes me wonder about that part that is used to change it to a dogbox...can't recall the name but its that alum piece that came with the gearset...I'll see if I still have pics.

I'd contact Gerard at PAR...he's usually pretty good about contacting me via email in a reasonable manner. Let him know what happened and what's going on now when you email him.

I've spoken with him several times. Back when I was having the shift rod issue. I will get it down and open it up to see what broke, take pics and go from there.

Are you thinking of the shift interlocker?

A little taller tire may help your trap some and a stickier one (obviously) would help keep it form spinning

Yeah..., there are several things that could have been done to make the car quite a bit faster. I mean, I never even touched the launch control yet... I just need the diffs to be able to withstand 1.5-1.6 60ft's. I think the car would run 10.'s with the power it has if I could leave the line like that with the gear to carry me through.
