Which in turn constantly begs the question in any given situation "What do we want the most?"

And that question haunts me.

Read "Stumbling on Happiness" by Daniel Gilbert. What we think we want is based on our past experiences & biases more than our current emotions, anticipations, or basic wants. We really have no idea what we want, outside of the immediate term "I'm hungry, therefore I want food" sort of want.
