Out of curiousity, would these calipers fit a 2000 RS? And if so, would that be with or without the need for a different caliper bracket and/or need for wheel spacers on the stock 16" rims?

edit for those that search: 2000 RS OEM brakes ---> 04 and newer WRX 4pot brakes, 2 pot rears.

I just purchased a new set of these brakes for a 2000 2.5 RS GC8 bodystyle. I spoke with a senior tech at my Subaru dealer and verified that the front would need the calipers, brackets, gasgets. The rear conversion requires all the same but in addition will need to replace the backing plate as the RS won't fit the new WRX brakes. Obviously, all 4 rotors would also need to be replaced with WRX sized ones.

Peace out!

Yes the fronts will bolt right up. If you have the 6 spokes they fit fine. If you have the five spokes I think you may need a small spacer in the rear (if you go with 2 pot rears) and you'll need a caliper bracket as well for the rears.

Wow! you're up late.

BTW...will these need the upgrade to WRX sized rotors and you weren't quite clear if the fronts would need the upgraded bracket too.

Yes the fronts will fit on a 98-01 RS with no problems. Both the 98-99 five spokes and the 00-01 6 spokes will clear in the calipers in the front. You will also need front rotors from a WRX.

The rears require the larger rotors and the bracket adapters but I'm not sure if anyone is selling them right now or not. Kartboy has made some before and so has this guy. http://www.rs25.com/forums/showthread.php?t=84459. I'm not positive about the RS wheels clearing the rear calipers but I don't see why they wouldn't.

I don't know about the speculation but....it's been plugged into my 02 WRX and it worked just fine.
