Default Enkei Bortex wheels??

I just found a set of Enkie Bortex wheels for sale... They are 17x7, 5x100. The guy doesnt know the offset. Does anyone know if these will clear '07 wrx calipers?? I realize offset would help determine this, but lets assume +48...Also what do you thin an acceptable range of offsets would be?

acceptable range, 42-53 just throwing that range out there. should clear 4 pots as some 16s do.

this is not true

ASSuming that some wheel or another will fit based on offset is a false assumption

I ASSumed he meant, beacause some 16" wheels fit and the wheels in question are 17", there would be no problems. Anyhow, I picked up the wheels/tires, havent put them on yet. The offset is +48 wheel size 17x7. A perfect set of firehawk gts are mounted, but size 215/55 not sure how they are gonna work...

ASSuming that wheels will fit based on size is just plain stupid.

Because it is a false ASSumption.

There are PLENTY of 17's that dont fit

and those tires are too tall

first thing I would have done before handing over the cash is to jack up the car, remove a front wheel, put on one of the potential new ones, and see if it hits the caliper - takes less than 5 minutes (much less if you are feeling inspired) and then you know if they'll work before you buy them...

Honestly, passenger side worked w/ about 0.00" clearance. the driver side after torquing down rubbed slightly, but still spun...Whats the smallest spacer i can buy?

I'm gonna see if ayone wants the wheels in the next few days. After that get some thin spacers...No grinding for these calipers, thanks.* I should have listened to Uncle Scotty form the start...
