Default Lower Radiator hose

Any one have an issue replacing there lower radiator hose???? I tried bought one at the dealership. No one else had one. The old one came right off. Now the new one right from subaru does not fit. When it is on it has a nasty kink at the radiator end. Its the right part ##. Has anyone else had an issue with bad fitment issues and if any one has any idea's?

Thanks

I hear you - I have a lower hose waiting to go back for just that same reason - part number is 45161AE020 - it was too long in the middle section (between the two bends) so I couldn't even trim it and make it fit properly! (thankfully, it was a preventive maintenance thing, so my old one was still able to be put back on!) Only thing I could think of was that I had the new style radiator installed under warranty, but they didn't replace the hose when they did that, so I don't know (plus, if you have the same problem with an 04, then it's clearly not the radiator!)

That is the same issue i have. Mine has leaked on and off for the last 20k figured i would just replace it. I put it on the engine side and it looks too long and when it is on it kinks. I am going back to the dealer today my car has been on ramps since satuday. A 2minute job turned into a 3-4 day job..... I will let you know what the dealer says.

went to the dealer today. They gave me 45161AE020 the first time to long. This part # i was told is just for the wrx with the 2L engine. They swaped the 45161AE020 for 45161AE010 this hose is for most other subies. the 45161AE010 hose fit alot better. It looked alot closer to the old hose.
Hope this helps anyone else who runs intothis issue.
