First, almost all legacys are 4 cyl.
Second, All subarus are boxer, not a V...

no, there are many many H6s

OP - as caschmidt said, it's not a V, it's an H - search "H6 swap" to get started.

/blink...an H engine is a horizontally opposed engine which is the same as a boxer...and if you had read the entire wiki article in your second link you'd see a "flat engine" (aka boxer) is listed as a H engine as well
