Default Honda S2000 cluster swap into WRX - help!

*** ATTN: if you post will contain the following questions please utilize your "back" button and your web browser now. "why", "rice", "this is pointless" etc etc...***

Alright guys and gals, I have a question for you.

I am thinking about embarking on a project that I've never seen done before and I've googled to death, searched every forum relating to Subarus and have not found a clear answer.

What I want to do is install a Honda S2000 cluster into my 2002 WRX, I have the wiring diagrams for the S2K cluster, and am looking to find the WRX one so that I can look what each has, if its +/-.

I just think this would be something that would be very, very cool to do.

If I do it there will be a full writeup with lots of pictures

Any helping hints would be great!!!!

The S2k Cluster is small and tight (like the S2k). Not sure why you would want to do this, but if you do best of luck!

you can find wiring diagrams and a lot of help on k20a.org .
also depends if your car uses a certain VSS sensor (analog vs digital), but they do make a converter box to aid this.

You're going to have a hell of a time getting the signals to match and I hope you have an electrical engineering background or a good friend who does because you're going to need a lot of help in that regard.

I've seen harder swaps than this done with an S2K cluster (into a pre ODB2 car). Start researching signal conversion boxes, signal types and frequencies, and how things like rpm are calculated in the s2k (crank sensors) and how the system figures out MPH.

Or you can save all that trouble and research stand alone digital dashes, which do exist and can work for pretty much any application.

I put a honda EG cluster in my dodge colt once, the juice wasn't worth the squeeze in the end. having to mickey mouse the speed cable, then calibrating everything, blah.

To everyone that says "why" ... why not? I've never seen it done before, everyone and there brother has an STi cluster, or a JDM STi cluster, but how many people do you see w/ an s2000 cluster? Besides that its my car, so please keep the hating to a minimum.

I have a couple of years of automotive engineering under my belt, and a good friend of mine is going to college right now for electronics engineering.

Everyone that has given a answer, or support thanks you!

You should try to get the harness on the cluster side also to make connecting easier, you'll just have to match the signal splice and solder after that. Good luck and I look forward to seeing this.
