Default Turning off the Lock/Unlock Beep

Hi everyone. I just picked up an 08 WRX 5 door about a month ago and I was wondering if you guys could help me out. I have alway been annoyed by cars beeping or making noise when the drivers lock or unlock their cars. I love my new subie but the beep I do not like. Is there a way to turn this off or make it to where it only beeps once instead of multiple time (since you have to hit it twice to unlock both doors)?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Not sure what you mean by this. I read the back of the remote and it says nothing about turning this beep off. It has instructions for car finder, Panic, and Panic off.

Try holding both the lock and unlock buttons down for 2 seconds. Thats how I disabled mine.

^^^ yeah but the OP has an '08 procedure is different

can't remember exactly but you have to do something weird like open the driver's door, stick the key into the ignition 10x fast and then press the remote. pretty sure it's in the owner's manual somewhere
