Default 225/50/17??

Hey i need to get myself new tires and im trying to decide what size to get. So far i have been running 225/45/17 on my 17x7 in wheels. I have h techs but was wondering if a 225/50/17 would look and good and help me fill up a little more of the gap. I tried looking for pictures of other cars wit this set up but could not come accross anything. If anyone hasany pictures or ideas on how this might look please let me know. I don want it to look like i have big balloons for tires but if it looks meaty kinda and fills out the space better i might be up for it. Thanks!

hmmm..i would not go with 225 50 17s. they are going to make ur tires look like balloons. they look kinda wierd too if your car is lowered. juss stick with the traditional 225 45 17

I'm trying to sell my 235/45R17s they are too tall for me. They have around 500 miles on them. Bridgestone Potenza 760 sports. They fill the gap pretty well. If you look under my name I posted a pic with the tires installed. Oh and I'm right down the road from you in Richmond

I have 215/55/17 mounted on enkeis. the side wall is 5.75mm taller than what you are thinking about...215/55=118.25 mm sidewall225/50=112.5mm sw* 225/45=101.25mm sw. They arent mounted on the car but here are pics...they look huge btw http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1645597

I have a Forester on Pink Springs. i went from the factory 215/55/17's to a 225/55/17. I regret that. it's not hateful, but a bit much. I too tried to fill the fender gap. It's a mistake.

all very good points.... can a 235/45/17 fit on a 17x7. I thought 225 was the max.

I wouldn't go past 225 on a 7 wide. You'll have to live with the gap unless you went with S-Techs which is already another bad choice right there lol.
