Default Bad battery terminal. P0340 Camshaft position sensor circuit malfunction. Related?

For the past year, my car has shut off at random every 3 months only to start up within an hour or so and run fine for another 3 months. Every time it resets the ECU, but the last two times I managed to get the code from a CEL mentioned in the title before it disappeared.

This weekend it did not start back up, until just now when I reconnected the negative battery terminal. Could this be related to the CEL I got? Or do I have two separate problems?

Lastly, is it possible to have a perfectly fine looking battery terminal + connector thingy and still have it reduce the dependability of the car to 98% (like I said, runs solid between instances)?

TIA,
Robert

PS - car is a 97 L 2.2

I had an issue with mine last winter. I thought my battery was going bad - randomly, it wouldn't start unless I jumped it, and after trying, the battery would appear to be dead. I had checked that the terminals were tight, and couldn't figure out what it was. Finally pulled the terminals off, and they were fairly corroded. Cleaned them up with some battery post cleaner and a scotch bright pad, and it started fine after that.

So yeah, I would guess it's possible
