Default Losing MPH top in end 1/4 mile.....

What would be the reason for a good 1/8th trap, but not so good final trap?
Last week at the track I went 89 in the 8th, but only finsihed with 110.34......

Any ideas that I could start trouble shooting? Or is that pretty normal? I was expecting more around 113ish

I doubt it. I would think if something was wrong like you said it would affect your 1/8th mile too. I would say either your shift point or shifting in general cause with the mods you have you should know whether it's your car just not making power up top or not

Can you describe your setup a little more? it does seem like your 1/4 trap is a little low for having a 89mph 1/8.

2.0 wrx, stock heads.....8cm 18g, 50/50 meth, EWG, FMIC....Thats just the basic idea, The car felt like it was perfect.

But I didnt htink my shifting was "THAT" bad....I mean I picked up 22 mph, but i was expecting more like 25ish, Maybe I was just expecting too much??

We can help you more, if you give us the full slip details 60' split times etc.
If you have it the race weight or at least a description of any mods you have made that would change the race weight from the typical 3350 lbs you would expect on a street trim car.

You gained 21.34 mph or so in the last 1/8th mile that is not "bad" but stronger cars will gain 22-24 mph. This of course all depends on your setup, but useful judgements are impossible with out full slip info, weather conditions and setup info.

Until we have that everyone is just blowing wild guesses out their ass, as we have no clue what your car should have run with out that info.

Generally poor trap speed directly relates to peak power output, you are either down on power or not shifting properly to make use of the power you have. Based on your sig info you ran near the speed you would expect from that sort of setup.

Trap speed says the car is capable of a low mid twelve ET 12.3-12.4 or so with a 110.34 trap speed. If you were maxing out the car you would have run a 12.6 ET at 107.3 or there abouts.

Your trap speed and an assumed race weight of 3350 works out to a hp output of about 377 hp, which is close to your dyno numbers. That means the trap speed is reasonable for you power output, it is the ET that needs work. Flat shifting might get you 1 more MPH or so.

That means you are giving up ET that you should be able to run. In the WRX near your power levels, you should be able to run 2-3 tenths lower ET at that trap speed. Your 1/8 mile time should have been near 7.78 seconds for that trap speed in the 1/4.

Work on your 60' and you will get that extra ET.

I replied in your other thread. But on my 02 wrx 16g and pump gas, I usually run 89 in the 1/8 and 110 in the 1/4. So, I think you have the potential to run faster with an 18g and meth. Your car could be tuned fairly safe and not making it's maximum power potential, or it could have some knock and be pulling timing. I would datalog it and look for knock and see if it has any learned knock correction.
