Default 17x9 what Size tires?

hey guys i found 17x9's i am in love with

i like the side wall height of 225/45 but want a wider tire

should i run a 235/45 OR 245/40 ? (255 would need fender work = no)

What offset? What's up with all these wide wheels and ghetto streched tire (with wrong offset) threads theses days? Max recommended rim width for 225/45 is 8.5". 235/45 would be a little tall. 245/40/17 would be the best in most cases.

Search.

and use a tire calculator

i am coming over from the VW/AUDI community and like the wide wheels (actually filling our fenders)

- i hate modified cars with the tires/wheels sitting an inch inside the fender walls (doesnt look agressive or good to me)

there's that 'aggressive' word AGAIN

oh yeah...fenders do NOT have 'walls'

Well, I think you answered your own question. Get 255's and roll your fenders if you want be like a cool modified vw/audi. If you didn't, you'd hate your car.

I am running 17x9 Rota DPTs, 42 offset
Using 245x40x17 Dunlops Z1 Star Specs, which are said to be as wide as 255s.

I rolled front and rear fenders, and I have -2 degrees camber up front, and -1 in the rear. I do not rub, although I would have without the rear rolling for sure. The front was a precaution, and I am glad I did.

Maybe with a different 245x40 I could have gotten away without rolling, I dunno. I DO know that running an 17x9 with anything than a 245 is a waste.

OR, you can enter the world of spacers on 17x8s. Non-recommended usually, but it is your car.
