one new tire - bad?
I recently got into an accident and they had to replace one tire.
The other tires have about 60% tread left. Is this bad? Can this damage the diffs? I hear you can shave the tire down, but will they do it after I've driven on the tire? thanks

Yes. that is def a big enough of a difference that you may end up damaging your center diff. Not worth it in my opinion. I would get 4 new ones and the others, or if you're lucky, find 1 used one.

You might as well replace the other 3 if they're already at 60% tread. I can't give you any hard data on tolerances for tread wear but it never hurts to have fresh rubber all the way around.
