Default Can you guys identify this ECU? 7Z

Hey guys,

I have in my possession an old school Subaru ECU, which I'm pretty positive is JDM. It has 3 yellow plugs. The sticker on the top reads as follows:

7Z
226 AD720
A18-000 D64 then in small print 7X20
JECS ECU

Any idea what this ECU is from? I have come to the conclusion that its either from a very old school BC chassis JDM Legacy EJ20 w/air-water intercooler, or JDM Ver. 3 STI. Its actually very clean so I can't imagine its extremely old.

The guy who gave it to me got it through a shady sale of a JDM BC Legacy EJ20 for his 1970s Porsche that he is swapping.

I have never seen this particular ECU code before, so I figured I'd let the NASIOC gurus have a shot at it.

Thoughts? And what would this thing be worth? I have no use for it so I was going to try and sell it (mods, this is not a for sale ad).

Thanks!

It won't be a BC ECU. Those are 4 plug. IIRC, 3 plug would match a V3.

Are you sure it's not 22611 AD720? That's really close to a 1997 Ej20K ECU with 280ps, but that one is 22611 AC720 and is an "IS" type

I'm not showing it as an Impreza ECU, even though sequentially it would be from around 1997. I am going to guess it's a twin turbo Legacy ECU.
EDIT: So you've been sitting on this ECU for 2 years and still don't know what it is???

^ If those 2 little lines between the 226 and AD720 are two 1's then yeah its that code. They don't look like 1's to me, but I guess JECS makes weird 1's. It would be 22611 AD720.

So does that mean its a JDM Ver. 3 STI EJ20K? Or EJ20R?

Yeah I've had this thing forever. Found it sitting around my garage again. I had a thread about 2 years ago about it but never settled on exactly what it was. Figure if its actually useful to someone I'll let it go since I have no use for it

How do I find out if it is a 1S? Where would it say that?

Sorry. I confused things. It's not an IS. It's a 7Z.

So is a 7Z from a JDM Ver. 3 STI 280ps or from a JDM EJ20R tt Legacy? I think that's what we've narrowed it down to in this thread, but I want to be positive.

I wish there was a database for ECU codes. Maybe we should have one on NASIOC?
