Allison quit Crossfit for a while. She didn't like how cult-like it was becoming, so she took a few months off, which led to her finding other outlets for her physical fitness.. It became an obsession versus an actual goal. Doing something just to do something... sounds to me like its just an odd hobby, but to each their own.
I see this successfully integrated into combat training, or into a decathlete program, but just doing it to do it? Whatever floats your boat.

I ****ing hate crossfit. I did it for almost 3 months and I will agree that it is extremely good at getting you into shape. I was pretty obsessed with it and I loved it for a while. Then I realized how damaging it is to your body. I was going M-F in the morning. I like the competitiveness and the results, but again I think that all the lifts will end up giving you massive joint problems if you do it for a while.
The gym I was going to calls themselves a "barbell club" and focus mostly on snatch and clean. http://www.crossfitlac.com/ |

and why is it a bad idea to post WODs? ![]() ![]() also, as an avid lifter before CrossFit, I can say that Ive put muscle on while doing CrossFit. But I do about 3 days where the workouts involve heavier compound lifts. you can keep your muscle size up in Crossfit if you know what you're doing. |

Meh, some people have problems that training exposes, most likely had some serious muscular imbalances and didn't do anything to correct it. I highly doubt with the weight and activities done with crossfit that any tendon or joint damage was done. In fact, I'd go a step further and ask why you think it damaged your joints? I'm guess because you have no idea what you're talking about and your joints were sore. P.S. I'm not a fan of crossfit, but I'm much less of a fan of making **** up.

I just started crossfit about 2 months ago. All I can say is wow, it was love at first WOD. I can't get enough of it!
