Default Results for a temporary NA build using STI pistons....

So until I get the turbo parts all lined out, intercooler sorted, yada yada yada, I am running my new motor NA.

Its an NA block with Mahle 100mm pistons (STI compression), 99 DOHC Legacy Subaru 3-ply metal head gaskets, earlier than 1997 twin turbo heads, unknown year 2.5 NA intake manifold.

Other than an irritating idle issue (likely a vacumn leak), the motor runs great! More torque and power than a 2.2. But how does it compare to a higher compression build? Not as good. But it still has enough torque to have fun with for the next 500 or so miles till I get the turbo stuff sorted.

you going to dyno that motor??i guessing you're not cause it'd be a waste to dyno before you put it all together, i just wonder how much difference those pistons make!@##@!

Could even road dyno it with romraider and data log lab on the cheap (cost of a cable)

Can romraider talk to a 1990 Legacy ECU?

why didn't you sub the 4ply head gaskets and didn't those get recalled or changed. don't think it can well maybe it can just not adjust anything on the ECU..I really don't know.
