Default What series Blizzak on 17x7?

So I'm about to buy a set of Blizzak LM-25s from Tirerack to go on my 17x7 Prodrive P7s. I originally was going to go with a 215 series tire, but now I noticed that they're on closeout on Tirerack, while the 225 series LM-25s aren't. I'm a little weary about ordering a tire thats on closeout (in case I have an issue), but I'm not sure if I want to go with a wider snow tire (not to mention saving a few $ with the 215 series as well). Any recommendations?

im using 225/45/17 i pikes on my prodrive p1's 17x7. I wouldn't worry about running too wide and just get the 225's.

Its usually better to have skinnier tires for winter though, so thats the main reason I'm looking at a 215 series. Does a 215 to a 225 series make that much difference though?

That is my first choice, but should I be worried about the 215 series Blizzaks being on closeout?

FWIW I had a set of 4 Blizzaks for my 325i 'beater' that lasted 12 years. Best winter tires ever. Just instaled new LM-25s on my '08 can't wait to drive the mold lube off.

I *think* closeout on tirerack means they are just getting really low in that size for this year, when they are gone for the season they are not ordering anymore till next year. now Bridgestone may never make them again but that is not tirerack's fault.

the 215 is on closeout because our stock is running low not because they are being discontinued or anything like that. Bridgestone is not producing any more until next fall/winter so, we are unable to replenish our supply
