Default '10 Mitsu EVO X FQ400... 405HP + 400TQ

Sourced from: http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/01/m...g-with-405-hp/

Autocar snagged a handful of pics and some initial specs of the UK-only Mitsubishi Evolution X FX-400, and as suspected, the hotter Evo is a road-going version of the ADR Motorsport-prepared sedan that successfully campaigned this past September in the 24-Hour Britcar Championship.

The turbocharged 2.0-liter 4B11 will put out approximately 405 hp and 400 lb.-ft. of torque thanks to a new turbo, retuned ECU and center-exit exhaust. As opposed to the outgoing FQ400, the Evo X-based model won't use a race clutch, so puttering around town should be bit more bearable, and due to the FQ400's prodigious output, the twin-clutch SST gearbox which can't handle more than 331 lb.-ft. of torque won't be used. Despite this, expect the FQ400 to lay down 0-60 times of around 3.5 seconds, 0.6 seconds faster than the Evo X FQ360.

In addition to six-pot calipers, upgraded brakes and 18-inch wheels, the FQ400 will feature a new aero kit that includes additional cooling intakes, vents, a larger air intake in the hood and ducts cut into the side skirts to aid rear brake cooling. Production will be limited to 100 units, unless demand calls for more, but considering the price between 45,000 and 50,000, or 14,500 more than the FQ-360 100 examples should just about do it.

Can we start a '10 STi speculative thread yet?

You do realize that will NEVER arrive state-side?

That, and that price equates to around $67000-$74,000 US dollars...

Hell, the MR already hitting 44K is more than anybody wants to pay for a car you can't modify past 330fl/lbs of torque...

Yeah you will too. Everytime these types of threads are started these ignorant comments are made. Currency conversion doesn't work that way.

^^ True. (Oh, and nice username, from a Superman fan. )

I'd lob off a good percentage from the $67-74K range that was posted, above, in realistic off-the-floor cost. Assuming of course that the car comes here, which yes is a rare chance. But not at all impossible.

However, if it did come here, it WOULD sell.

No one claimed this car was coming here, and for the final time, currency conversions do not work like that.

While the G8 might have comparable hp, it's not even close to doing 3.5 seconds to go from 0 to 60. Add handling into the equation and it's not even close, so this is a terrible comparison.

for $2k i will make the g8 gxp 0-60 in 3.4 seconds and leave you in the dust with a broken transmission...

and use the rest of the $$ for an STI for a winter beater.

$40k? The G8 GXP is expected to have a base MSRP of right around $40k. So that doesn't quite leave you with $40k leftover. Price aside, the comparison itself was a silly one to bring up in the first place.

$2k on a heavier G8 GXP will get you Z06-beating acceleration? Sure it will.

And while we're on this argument, why not just buy a used whatever for $10k and spend $20k in mods and be able to beat everything we've mentioned so far? Then spend the rest on beer?

oh man... not this crap again, we should have a forum "stupid comparisons" with a subsection "why the sti is better than god, with 5k in mods"

^ But when you think about it, it doesn't take THAT much work to get the car to that kind of power output.
