Default Good place to look for a job on a team

I've been considering looking for a job on a racing team. I love cars and I love racing, and I hear it's good to do something your passionate about. Is there a classifieds somewhere (beyond NASIOC) for teams that are hiring?

What kind of team? Pro, Club Racing.

Right now there is a glut of people hitting the streets with massive layoffs in NASCAR country as well as other race teams.

Without experience you won't get very far with any team of note. You should go volunteer with some local shops that run a number of customer cars at club racing weekends. After a few weekend you may be able to step up to a paid trackside worker. From there it's all about good networking.

The fastest way would be to go to the Russell School and be a mechanic, same with Skippy but the Russell school seems to be a bit more official. Both schools have very strong contacts in teh pro racing world and top teams will come to them looking for new talent to work for them.

Get a CDL first. Being able to drive the rig puts you a step ahead of some others.

Volunteering is another good way to get in the door.

with no experience, you'd have to volunteer to do some basic stuff. there's an event at PIR in january, you can come rotate my tires and put gas in the wagon lol. j/k. otherwise, they tend to hire those out of schools mentioned above.

Check out some of the forums for the specific series you are interested in. The grand-am series (Koni and Rolex) both have forums. You may be able to find something there.

Like someone else said already though, if you have no experience you probably need to volunteer first though and make some connections.
