Default Mirror Wind Noise

My 1997 Legacy GT Wagon has horrible wind noise coming from my mirrors at 65+ MPH. How can I fix this? It's so annoying. I'm willing to buy new mirrors if it fixes the problem because I drive on the interstate twice a day to get to school and cannot stand it.

Also, sometimes I have this rattle in (I'm assuming) my passenger side B-Pillar, sounds like it's right under where the seat belt comes out. The rattle is highly metallic and very fast, I would describe it as metal bands hitting each other. This happens generally at 65+ also. I've pulled the seat belt out to make sure it wasn't the retractor or something but that didn't help. It also doesn't do this all time, just randomly.

Ugh, I know, that's my current "fix". I just want something more permanent, especially when I have no good songs.

Wow, I might have to. I've been dying for some new music lately and haven't found anything interesting or different. Thanks Leggo.

Next time before you get in and go anywhere. Roll the window down all the way. Open the door.

There is a plastic trim piece on the inside that hides the mirror mounting screws. Use your finger nails or a screw driver and remove it.

Stand where the door hinges are facing the rear of the car.

Put your hands together and interlock your fingers. Like you are praying.

Put yout fingers around the vertical seals that seal the mirror to the window. Your heals or palms of your hands will be at the middle of the mirror mount on the inside and on the mirror on the outside. Squeeze your hands together. Sqeeze the metal bracket, you should be able to feel it, back together. You want to get the rubber seals on the inside and outside touching again. I am not aware of being able to squeeze too much.

Repeat on other side. Hope that helps.

Please make sure you are not driving while trying this.......

Peace,

Greg

I'll try not to.

And I'm not really a fan of that Strung Out CD, never really liked Rock.

I am going to need a diagram, because apparently I am far too retarded to visualize this....may just be from lack for sleep

I think this requires a short YouTube demonstration???

I had the same B-pilar noise, it ended up being a missing nut on the window track from the rear door.
