Default Can a Single HFC Totally Eliminate the Stench?

OK, so I switched to the EL headers, which are catless. The car smells HORRIBLE. So bad, in fact, that every time we slow down before a stop, one of us has to reach over and turn off the heater so we don't suck up exhaust fumes. It's a nasty, sickly, burning, caustic, acrid smell. No smell of rotten eggs/sulfur though, which kind of surprises me.

Will a single high-flow cat completely eliminate the smell? The stock cats totally took care of it, BTW.

do you have a leak at one of the joints?

I've run catless for years and never get a strong smell of exhaust...

Even when I was running a single hfc i would get the smell once and awhile... but as said above it def sounds like you must have a leak somewhere

I have been in multiple catless cars and non act the way you describe that is why i presumed a leak. But to answer your question yes a cat would help cut some of that smell down

I have never noticed any smell since doing my headers and stromung HFC. Honestly, if i didnt know anything was different i would think it was stock (as far as the smell goes). Little more evidence that a cat, HF or not, may help. You think it may be your header wrap/coating? does it smell as soon as you start the car or does it take a couple mins to start stinking up your ****?

i was also thinking the header wrap but thought that would be obvious , is it smoking? take it on a good 100 miles drive and really heat those babies up.

One HFC on my car and still smells like gas. You need at least one true cat.

It starts as soon as the car starts, doesn't change as the car gets hotter. It's definitely not the header wrap as I have probably 1k miles on the car already.

Comparing to two other catless cars tonight, it's definitely the smell of an catless exhuast. HFC it is...
