Default Tinted window ticket

a bit of bad luck this morning, I received a ticket because my windshield is tinted, kinda sad since I've owned the car for about 2 years and never had a problem before ( i think the cop was bored). Anyway, i look at the code and it is like 150$. Does anyone know if I take the tint off before I have my court date, will the judge remove the ticket? Or should I just pay and move on =/?

Was the tint on your windshield clear or dark?

If you don't want to afford paying the ticket. I say go to court and see what happens.

Secondly, Did you get pulled over for something else, and he just gave you a ticket for tint?
If thats the case I would leave the tint on there and just pay the ticket and move on. or go to court and tell them you removed the tint, if youre not willing to pay.

How dark is the tint?

Are you talking about the upper little strip part of your windshield? No matter how it goes you'll have to have the tint removed just to avoid another stupid ticket.

Yep 8 out of 10 times the ticket gets dismissed cause its less paper work for them

Best thing to do is take a before and after dated pic to show thats its been removed

can u do that? i thought a police officer had to sign off on it. Otherwise you could take a pik of your car and a pik of an identicle one that doesnt have the tint and use it for the "after"

Yeah, I have my whole windshield tinted, I know it is illegal, but I have never had problems before and I've been in contact with police prior. it isn't very dark at all, but it is noticeable. I was just driving to school and i drove past two motorcycle cops. As soon as i passed, one started following me and just gave me a ticket for it. I thought you couldn't be pulled over strictly because of the tint. Ah well, I guess I can just wait and goto court, saying i've owned the car for over two years and play dumb =/ ... btw, is tint hard to remove?

Gilbert is the worse area to have illegal tint. When I got busted for the tint, I had to show them that the tint was in fact removed. When I went to the court, a lady came out to make sure there was no tint on the windows.

I would remove it, go show that it has been removed, then have it retinted if you have to have it. My buddy will tint a windshield for a lot less than the fine you have to pay. If you have glass coverage, just break the windshield so you don't have to worry about getting the tint removed.

I got a tint ticket recently. I just paid the ticket because it is just an equipment violation not a moving violation. I figured by the time I either payed someone or spent the time removing the tint it would be worth it just to pay the fine. There is also a chance that the judge would not give you a break then you removed the tint for no good reason.

If your a PI or Process Server, their is a statute out that allows you to have your front window tinted and the rest of your cars windows tinted past the legal limit. Its that way for surveillance work..Pretty cool!

Ya dido! i got a ticket on my bugeye for it being too dark on the front windows. 95 dollar fine. worth the ticket rather than stripping and retinting. that was the only one i got in three years. dps was bored. or it could have been my downshifting to brake right as i passed him. lol. i was bored too!

the tint laws are stupid, and it always seems to be dps writing these pointless tickets because their bored or pissed off at the world. DPS needs to start doing its job.

I do think they are stupid as well. Unless somebody is running like double limo tint or something retarded that they cannot see outside in the dark.

I have 13% all around, and can still see very well at night through them. Last thing I want is someone swirving into me cuz they cant see through their side mirrors.
