Default Suggestions for 17 X 9 wheels

I am looking for 17 x 9 wheels for my 2008 WRX sedan to use for autocross with R comp tires. Anyone have any suggestions for a good wheel that is light and not to expensive?

At that size, two of the best "compromises" you'll find between weight and cost for a 5x100 wheel would be the Work Emotion CR Kai and the Rota DPT. Other than those, its hard to get both lightness and cost-effectiveness in the same wheel. If RPF1s came in 17x9 5x100, it would be a no brainer.

As Thrasher mentioned, the Rota DPT is an awesome 17x9 wheel that works very well for street, track, etc.. This wheel is offered in 17x9 +42 fitment and is only 18.9 lbs, offered in a wide variety of colors and will work well with R compounds

On my car with a 245/40/17 Bridgestone RE-01R (Matte Bronze)

Bigboy's car with 255/40/17 Falken RT615's (Matte Bronze)

Surfer Steve's car with 255/40/17 Falken RT615's (Matte Steel Grey)

cpasti's car with 245/40/17 Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Specs (Flat Black)

Justin's car with 275/40/17 Hoosier's

If you have any specific questions feel free to PM me or post them up here

Here are some shots of your wheel/tire setup Roy, thought you might want a sneak peak before they arrive

This setup is going to be amazing on your car and be a blast to drive for AutoX events. The entire wheel/tire package fully inflated only weighs 40 lbs

Might be time for a harness or racing seat as this car is going to pull some serious G's in turns

what?

if you have snow tires, any wheel will work...even cheap steelies as long as they clear your brakes. only problem with 17x9s is you'll need wider winter tires unless you like the stretched look.

d00000000000d

it is REAL dumb to put too wide of wheel with too wide of tire on a car and try to drive it in winter

best results for winter use include a tall, narrow tire

or do ya even understand any of that??

For those with the Rota DPT + 275/40/17 tires. What issues have you had with rubbing ? Have you run 255/40/17's and how comparable are those ? I can easily fit the 255's on my Forester, I'd love to run some 275 R comps with the DPT 17x9 wheel but can't tell whether they'd fit or not without rubbing. I do have coilovers and camber plates.

Maybe I missed the cost issue, but in addition to so-so wheels Work also makes good wheels, they are called vs-xx. Available in the size you seek in various offsets and they have specific wheels to allow large calipers. I assume you already now the class that 9" wheels places you in. With all the dough that you must have spent to get the performance to a competitive level $600 a wheel should be nothing more than a good investment. Running that width on the Legacy platform is no different than 8.5 on the Impreza platform.

Ahh, there it is at the end, nevermind the vs-xx it doesn't fit the criteria. Sorry for the wasted post.

Suby-Dude....I went on the rota wheel website and I don't see them on the site, might be user error and I just dont see them or they are under another name. But anyway, do they come in 18x8.5? And I see they look alot like CE28N's.....are they similar in weight?
