Subaru Stars SCCA 24 and younger discount

I found this, a discount for those those who want to Auto-x rally and pro race. Under $45 dollars it was so easy to sign up. I heard that they insure the car if anything happens. I did the Red Hook rally-x even and they are very organized, it cost about $60 for the event.
http://proitseries.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=22

it said its under $45 for the year its a special rate for 24yrs and under

They certainly don't insure your car at events. That being said, it is a good deal to get the young guys started with the SCCA.

I guess "guys" can cover it all, but corrected anyway

In case you wonder what the SCCA insurance does cover, there are links on this page that summarize 2008 coverage. Even though it doesn't cover you car, it is still comforting to know it is there for other things.

Hey, hey, I try to keep young girls away from the events. There was a really cute young lady at the event yesterday, then I hear that she JUST got her license. I felt like a really, really, really, dirty old man.

SCCA autox insurance covers the site owners and clears you of any liability to anything you may damange during a sanctioned event (other peoples cars, property or bodies) and it provides medical insurance in the event you have to go to the hospital. That's literally about it. It does not cover any cars, personal property, club equipment, etc.

If she's autocrossing, she's doing it wrong.

Looks like rallycross to me.

There are many women autoxers, at least at the events I attend.

My daughter started autoxing 2 months after her 16th birthday and began rapidly narrowing the gap on me after a few events. I'm sure she'd have beaten me given time. Thankfully I sent her away to college before that happened

Shouldn't matter. If something would have happened, you wouldn't have been following SCCA rules and would not have been covered by the insurance.

Many insurance companys may insure you while racing doing AutoX. They consider driver improvement. They often find that autoX makes you a safer driver on the street. Check with your agent. Mine said no problem and I actually get a rate discount. LOL

That is very unusual. Most companies will not cover anything like autox and some people have run into trouble for just asking.

2 years ago, I asked (for track) and their answer was "you're cancelled".

Yah....don't ask.
