But this is all just ****ty judgment right now. Laying the pipe on top of the intake is different than getting it in there once the stock intake is gone. I learned that the hard way with the Cosmo CAI I had. I thought I could conveniently cut that and make it dual purpose but I couldn't.

I have a good feeling about this though.

Awesome, keep us updated, for $20 and maybe a little more with some couplers, ya cant really go wrong.

Ok... So I already had a hump connector lying around (I actually have 2). I started to put it together today...

It does need to be cut. But only by a little bit. I didn't get to cut today as it started to rain right after I took that picture. It looks like I am also going to need some fittings, hose, and a plug.

The pipe has thee bungs on it but they are too small for our hoses and not in ideal locations. The first bung will have to be sealed. There is a second one on the inside of the bend which will be nearly perfect for the crank case hose. But an adapter is still needed. There is a third bung on the outside of the bend that will do for the head hoses. I'll have to get some fittings and T together the head hoses and route them to the bung on the outside of the bend.

When the weather gets better I will try to make the cut and see if it will fit before I go out and get all these other fittings.

So the weather was good today and I got it cut...

I cut it this much.

And it fit...

Only two problems...

1) The first bung rests on a bracket attached to the throttle body. Not a big deal IMO since I plan to plug it anyway and the rubber plug will cushion the contact.

2) The reducer doesn't fit all that well to the pipe. It makes a complete seal and is solid. But since the pipe is curved all the way to the end the reducer doesn't really sit on it very well.

And a few more angles.

Otherwise, it looks like the bungs are 3/8" so you will need to get two 1/2"-3/8" adapters, one 5/8"-3/8" adapter, some 3/8" hose, one 3/8" T fitting and about 12 clamps. T together the head hoses and reuse the the little bit of hose off the torque box for the crankcase hose.

Not completely installed yet. Put the stock intake back on after I took the pics. I am about to go to the hardware store and get all the fittings and some hose.

The gold strut tops you see are BC BR Coilovers.

The BCs are meh... I am one of the few people who isn't completely satisfied with them. They won't go as low as I want and the dampening isn't that great.

As I am gathering all the other odds and ends for this intake I am finding that I am coming up with extra stuff. I already have an extra hump coupler. I will also have extra hose and extra plugs. Would anyone be interested in this stuff?

That's not the end that was cut.

If I was really worried about it, I could make a second cut in the middle of the pipe to add more length and curve like the OP.

I'd rather keep the pipe in one piece though.

That's for a 99 though. Could be a 2.2 liter intake. I can't remember what my old 2.2 intake looked like on my '97 OBS. I'm sure thathtere is a pic somewhere on Nasico or MySubie though.

Looking at the pipe in the picture, I'd say it won't fit.

It's on...

I think I may redo the catch can -> intake hose. Give it more slack.

So far I have covered less than 10 miles. It is interesting. My idle is lower and it seems that I have to give it more gas to get going or it will stall. Putting around town is kind of odd. It feels really lean. But once I go to get on the freeway and really get on it it feels great. I didn't get on it that much since I was driving around during rush hour but it is super smooth up to 4500rpm.

No CEL, but I haven't even gone 10 miles. Hopefully I'll be able to push harder and see what it does when I go to work tomorrow morning.

2 questions.
1 where did u get that coupler I've looked all over.
2 do u need the catch can I didn't but I wondered if the oil residue would drain out with out it. Bc the factory set up is on the bottom for drain

Which coupler? I changed them both.

The catch can isn't necessary. I noticed a considerable amount of oil in my stock intake so I figured it might be a good idea. However, I have yet to see any oil in the new tubes (why I opted for clear).

Side angles...

I should also mention that the hose coming off the crankcase is not 1/2" it's 5/8". Luckily I have an adapter from the catch can kit that worked.

I did it differently than the OP. He just shoved a hose into the white clip. I used the small hose between the clip and the torque box. That hose has a 5/8" ID. Not a 1/2" ID like the head hoses.
