Rad fan hooked up, tach hooked up, fixed a leak in the power steering, coolant system mostly complete (no heater core in right now. brrr.), all lights hooked back up.

I've got an appointment at a shop on Monday to get the new intercooler piping made, then it's time to tune!

Looks like it's gonna be a fun car to drive. What turbo are you running at the moment? Think it can handle anti-lag?

TD06H-20G... Probably could handle antilag for a while, but I dont really think it has that much benefit to be worth the cost.

Yea, and to make it worse it's not even mine. Getting booted out. Hopefully I'll be able to use it from time to time still.

Keep in mind I've also got GD suspension under there, so that increases my track by almost an inch on each side. The wheels are also +25, so that's another half an inch. 1 inch + .5 in + .5 in wider wheels = 2 inches total extra.

No new pics but the suspension swap is done, still have to set everything to spec but I'm not going to do that until I've got the tires on the wheels so I can align it.

Almost entirely a bolt-on affair, pretty stoked about that. Surprised more people don't do this... My wheelbase just increased from 57.4 inches to 58.9. An inch and a half is a pretty considerable gain! Not to mention the added stiffness of the aluminum control arms and lateral links over the cheesy RS steel pieces.

Tomorrow I'm going to finish stripping out the diff and hook up the e-brake cables, then start tearing into the motor to get the shiny new rods in there. I want everything ready to drop in when the car gets back from the body shop.

Tires get here monday or tuesday, so I can get those mounted and do a quick alignment.

I'm running the 05 STI crossmember and steering rack, which has different splines than the stock RS, so I had to chop both knuckles in half and swap ends. Using two extremely long steel bars I couldn't break the welds, so hopefully they'll hold. I'm going to pull it off after a few weeks and inspect it for any cracks.
Yikes, I'd be scared driving

haha well I ground a fairly large V-grove between the two halves >< like that, then ran my welder at high amperage with a low wire speed and filled in the gap. It's ugly, but I think it'll hold.

****ing LOAD it with weld. make sure you dont spray water on it either.... let it cool down on its own. you really dont want to harden that piece of metal. haha imagine if it broke..... youd be ****ed.
