Default anyone running open source on their 08 STI/WRX?

Don't really want to spend the cash on a closed source cobb AP (although i admit cobb has done a great job with it) - I'd just like to have more insight to what the map is doing...

looking for opinions... I do have a spare laptop and could afford the AP, but would rather support the community if it works as well/better.

Nick with his 08sti me with my 08sti ed with his 08 wrx. And it has worked fine for all of us as far as I know. If I wasnt cheap I would get the ap and get keith at awdtuning.com to protune. The only reason I would say get the ap is the easy map switching. lug around a little box compared to a laptop. Either one will work equally as well, but why spend 600 or whatever an ap is these days.

As mentioned above... ME!

Keith tuned it with me, we talked about the tune and what hes doing, he told me what to watch for, besides leaving his phone in a friends car (which everyone does) he has always been there, has showed me everything hes done while doing installs. I could then install my own crawford air / oil separator.

Shawn is a great guy as well. Both helped me a lot.

Keith incoming email.

Sorry for calling so often =(

I saved $900+ dollars going with keith.

Can someone tell the difference between going open source versus the AP? on open source you have to flash the ECU Every time you make a change is that correct? where as with the AP it has the concept of base map versus real time and can be switched on the fly?

Obviously price, but other than that what are the technical differences?
