Default Dela..where?

Something i've noticed (maybe it's just me) but there seems to be a big decline in WRX owners in DE and it seems even less actually belong or post on this site. Sux cuz i'd love to do some local meet and drives. Just a random thought. Am I bymyself on this one or has anyone else noticed this too

no, not just since i've been a member, i'm talking in general. I always loved these cars and always watch for them on the roads and lately i have'nt really been seeing them anymore... a s***load of other subies like outback, tribeca and legacies tho. Old people love these cars too i guess

It's typical here my man.

I drive around the area a lot. I'm in Newark daily for class and around Kirkwood highway a lot as well. I see STI's and WRX's here and there but don't really post in the DE spotting thread unless it's a person I know frequents the boards (I've figured this out by driving around and waving at randoms that don't wave back). Basically what I'm saying is that you're right the presence here is small and of the small amount and even smaller number actually wave, go to meets, frequent to boards.

I'm pretty active as far as posting and attending meets as is TurboRX, Alxsti, RLR257, Sylon, and yellow02 for the most part. There are a few more I can name if you want that are around that post less frequently.

We had our weekly meets often during the summer but the cold weather and peoples busy schedules with work and school (me at least) have caused the frequency to decline. We are hoping to do another soon, so stay tuned.

There are only a handful of us in lower DE. Can't speak for all of us but I'm not super active mostly cause I'll end up driving 45 min or so to get to all the meets etc. I don't see too many other Subies down here either. And half of them don't wave :P

does'nt it make you feel like a dork when you wave at someone and they don't wave back? I hate that...I'll wave to anyone who waves at me and will wave if i see another subie...even if my aknowledgement is unrequainted lol.

^^Happens a lot.

Since there's a small population, as I said, that 'knows' what to do, you'll learn who they are and then only wave to them.

I do remeber tho, i think it may have been the day before or thanksgiving day i saw to wrx's near the bank of america hq by white clay creek. One as i was going into newark as well as coming out of newark. Both waved back that day.

I'm a DE person. Probably won't see me much, don't really need to drive much here at school. I only wave if someone waves at me first too.

I've definitely seen a big decline in the past few years I've been at UD. I usually see the same ones around now, though. Too many of them isn't really fun anyways. Kinda nice to see them every now and then.

I don't even have my car down in Delaware. Sitting at home in NY. Can't drive it anyway, broke my damn right wrist.

BTW, is that you Casey? It's Brian from ice hockey...

Yeah I like the fact that they are rare and few and far between. Makes the cars unique in our area.

How did you break your wrist man? That sucks, cuz it's the end of the semester and now when you go home you won't by able to drive the suby like you said.

Just rolled it over into the boards during a hockey game. Really sucks I can't drive, write or do anything. Final tonight at 7, need to suck it up for my math exam. I've had to take quizzes orally. lol

I need to make something to go over the shift knob or something so I can drive it more easily haha. Thankfully I have another car to drive that isn't stick.

I'm still trying to decide whether or not I should stick around Newark over the winter. We'll see what happens.

BTW, any idea who drives the modded S4's running around campus? Particularly the black one with tinted front windshield and the yellow one with a lot of carbon fiber bits?

Yeah I know who/have talked to the guy that owns the yellow one.

The black one actually lives near me in Hockessin and commutes like me, but I've never talked to him.

Both VERY nice cars. They sounds great. The guy with the yellow one said all he has is springs and exhaust IIRC. And then of course the carbon trunk/hood and wheels.

I don't know about the black one.

A few years ago DE was PACKED with subies. Couldn't go up without seeing them. Everyone I know up there moved on to different cars.

^^Yep I know a couple that had them and got rid of them in the last year or so.

I like it though. I have a rare car up here, who wouldn't be happy with that?
