Default HID 2.5i DRL PLUG NON EXISTENT

ok I'm sure this has been gone over before because i read a thread about it. The thread however had no specific location or pictures of the plug i need to find. I have a 2007 2.5i and i am looking for the DRL plug inside the car. I looked under the dash by the glovebox where all the previous models had it. Its definitely not there. I saw a thread where a member claimed to have found it and PMd him with no response. If anyone has a picture or a detailed description of where the plug is located in the 07 and only 07 2.5i, I would greatly appreciate the help.

thanks guys

Greg

Should be under the hood attached to the passenger side strut tower. It's a silver rectangle box that says "Caution: Hot". Unplug the harness, remove, and tape it up to prevent it from getting wet.

That is the dropping resistor and NOT the DRL control module. The 07's do not have the connector by the glovebox as the earlier models do, to disable the DRL controller you have to pull a wire out of the harness. It has been documented here but I don't have a link at the moment.

I have an 07 2.5i and already disabled my DRL's. I found a thread on here explaining it and it's behind the glove box.

You have to remove the glovebox, which only takes like 5 minutes, then you'll see the connector
it has 5 wires going into it, and you are supposed to disconnect the middle connector
here is the reply with the pics http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...8&postcount=49

I hope you only mean the 2.5i models.

I disabled my drl's by unplugging the module under the hood.

Edit, fair enough representation via pic...... http://www.clubwrx.net/forums/attach...p1010088-j.jpg

For ALL models with DRLs, the silver unit under the hood with a two-wire connector is the dropping resistor through which the lights are connected to ground when in DRL mode. Unplugging it will open the circuit and turn the lights off thus eliminating the DRL function, but the main control unit inside the car remains active. As long as the lights remain stock it may not matter, but if HIDs are installed or the lights are rewired with an alternate ground path, the DRL function may return because the module is still supplying power to the lights. Disconnecting the actual module is the proper way to fully eliminate the DRL system once and for all.
