Default Hard starting 08 Outback Sport

I have an 08 Outback Sport. It has 3,800 miles on it. Three times in the last month the car has had a hard time starting. I turned the key and the car kept trying to start almost like it was flooded. I finally let go of the key and tried it again and the car started. It think if I would have held it each initial time it would not have started. One time was after sitting all day at work, and another time was after the car had sat for an hour after being ran. Any ideas?

Weird. I have an 08 OBS, but haven't had that problem at all.

I did have similar issues with my 08 Civic though. Turns out some other people did too. It would try to turn over, but never make it. The suggestion that somebody through out was that people were trying to start it too quickly - trying to crank it before letting the fuel pump push some fuel into the hose. (Apparently the fuel pump kicks in when the key goes in). I found that if I put the key in, turn to ACC for just a second and then start the car, the issue went away.

I guess you could try it, but who the hell knows?
